Biography

Alessandro Miro is a Leo Award nominated actor of mixed ethnic background who has lived and worked in some of the most exciting cities across Europe and North America including New York, Milan, Vancouver and Toronto. 

He trained at the prestigious Circle in the Square Theatre School in Manhattan.  After graduation, he dove  right into the New York theatre scene, getting involved with some of the most vibrant and innovative theater companies in the city.
Working extensively in film and tv Miro has appeared on such hit shows as Fox's Fringe, USA Network's Psych, CW's Supernatural,  The Flash and Cult, CBC's Intelligence, CTV's Alice, I Think and Hiccups. 

Currently he can be seen in the feature film Daddy's Boy where he plays the lead role of Max.  The film premiered at Cinequest Film Festival, followed by sold out screenings  at Frameline Film festival in San Francisco, MiFo Film Festival in Miami, OutFest Film Festival in Los Angeles, New Orleans Film Festival and many more.  His performance earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 2016 Leo Awards.  His starring role in the Indie film Computer Potato earned him another nomination for Best Actor at the 2014 NYC Winter Film Awards. The film also won Best Alberta short film at the Edmonton International Film Festival as well as audience award at the Cinema at the Edge film festival in Santa Monica.
He starred as the romantic lead in the indie feature I Hate Toronto:  A Love Story which premiered at the Toronto Independent Film Festival to a sold out audience.

Later this year he can be seen in the gritty thriller Dark Harvest alongside Cheech Marin and James Hutson and the romantic comedy The Good Catholic starring Danny Glover, John C. Mcginley and Zachary Spicer. 

Miro is co-founder of the New York based Animus Theatre Company for which he recently performed the role of Silva in Tennessee Williams' The Long Goodbye at  Off-Broadway's Theatre Row under the direction of Matthew Lillard. Other theatre credits include James in After, Angelo in Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, Tony in Tony N' Tina's Wedding.
